There is no single US price for H. pylori testing. The cost depends on the method, provider, ordering route and payment arrangements. A quoted laboratory price may not include an appointment, interpretation, treatment or follow-up testing.
Start by establishing which test is appropriate. If you are still comparing methods, our H. pylori test overview explains the medical differences before price enters the decision.
Examples of listed prices
The following prices were visible on the providers' own pages on October 6, 2026. They are examples, not a market-wide range or a ranking of quality. The services use different methods and may have different eligibility and inclusions.
| Provider and offer | Method | Listed amount observed | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Labcorp OnDemand H. pylori test | Urea breath test | $209 USD | In-person collection; confirm current eligibility and terms |
| Quest Health H. pylori test | Urea breath test | $180 promotional price, reduced from $200, plus a $6 physician-service fee | Displayed test plus fee totals $186 before any other applicable charge; promotion may change |
| This site's H. pylori Profile | Focused molecular stool assay | $237 USD | Different assay from stool antigen or breath testing; confirm current total and service scope |

A current, comparable stool antigen quote was not verified for this table. Ask your clinician or local laboratory for that option rather than assuming the table exhausts the available routes.
Compare the full pathway
Use the same questions for every provider:
| Cost or service | Question to ask |
|---|---|
| Clinical assessment | Do I need an appointment before the test, and is that separately billed? |
| Requisition or order | Who reviews and places the order? Is the service fee included? |
| Collection | Is there a visit, a kit, a courier or a local drop-off? |
| Report explanation | Is a result notification different from a personalised interpretation? |
| Treatment | If the result needs treatment, who can prescribe and what is outside the package? |
| Follow-up | Which confirmation test may be needed, and how will it be arranged? |
Ask for a written total for the test you are actually considering. A lower advertised fee may still be a sensible option; the point is to compare equivalent services rather than assume every quoted price includes the same care.
Does online ordering mean no clinician is involved?
Not necessarily. A service can sell access online while arranging an authorised practitioner to place the laboratory order. That ordering step is different from having a clinician who will diagnose, prescribe and provide ongoing care.
Our ordering process describes practitioner involvement. Confirm who answers preparation questions and who manages a positive result before purchase. Do not assume an online approval or optional report review includes treatment.
What is included in the focused offering here?
The site's pricing page lists the focused Profile at $237 and an optional written interpretation service at an additional $245. Buying both at those listed prices would total $482, before any other applicable charge. The optional review should not be assumed to include prescriptions or continuing clinical care. Service and price details
If you already have a clinician who will interpret the report, establish whether a separate interpretation service adds something you need. The broader GI-MAP panels already include H. pylori; extra markers are not automatically necessary for a single-organism question.
For other GI-MAP packages and current promotion terms, check the pricing page linked above. Compare those additional costs only after discussing what the extra testing would contribute to your care.
What if I have insurance, an HSA or an FSA?
Ask the payer or plan administrator about the exact service, laboratory, ordering professional and required documents. Do this before relying on reimbursement. A provider accepting a payment card is a different question from whether your plan covers the expense.
For a clinician-arranged test, ask the provider for the information your insurer needs to estimate your responsibility. For direct-pay testing, confirm whether the provider bills insurance or whether you would need to submit anything yourself. Do not assume a published price is your insured out-of-pocket cost.
Check availability before planning around a kit
The site's current pricing page says its US offer excludes New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island. Confirm eligibility for the service and your address before ordering, especially where older pages give different information. It also identifies possible return-shipping exceptions. Current service terms
After a method is agreed, the preparation and collection guide helps organise the practical questions. Do not collect a mailed sample before confirming that it can reach the laboratory within the kit's acceptance window.
The cheapest useful option answers the right question
A test's price does not establish its medical accuracy. A conventional stool antigen or breath test may answer a focused infection question without a broad panel. Conversely, a clinician may have a specific reason to investigate resistance or perform endoscopy. Choose the clinical task first. MedlinePlus test categories
Next step: agree on the method with your clinician, then compare a complete quote. If the focused molecular offering fits that plan, confirm current package details with the provider. If you have not yet discussed whether testing is appropriate, start with the central guide.
