HTMA — hair tissue mineral analysis
No physical kit is mailed. After you order, your collection instructions and laboratory submission form arrive by email. You cut the hair sample yourself using ordinary scissors and post it to the laboratory.
Sending your sample to the laboratory is your responsibility and at your cost — typically a few dollars.

If you are in the United States, this is a domestic shipment. USPS Ground Advantage or First-Class Package with tracking is usually the most affordable option; UPS and FedEx also work. No customs form is required.
If you are in Canada, this is an international shipment. A Canada Post tracked packet is usually the most affordable option. On the customs declaration write "Human hair sample for laboratory analysis – no commercial value", value $0–5. Let the postal clerk know the envelope contains a non-infectious human hair sample being sent for laboratory analysis with no commercial value, and they will attach any customs documentation required. Occasionally a package is delayed at the border; if you see unusual tracking messages, tell us so we can help keep it moving.
Tracking is optional but strongly recommended. It is your responsibility to ensure the sample reaches the laboratory.
DUTCH — hormone testing
A physical kit is mailed to you, and shipping is included both ways. There is no separate shipping charge: the price you pay covers sending the kit to you and returning your sample to the laboratory.
Your kit includes collection materials, instructions and a prepaid return waybill. Use the waybill provided rather than arranging your own postage, and keep the sender's copy so you have the tracking number.
Your kit is dispatched once your order is confirmed. Delivery times vary by destination; if your kit has not arrived within two weeks, contact us and we will trace it or send a replacement at no cost to you.
GI-MAP — stool testing
A physical kit is mailed to you, with collection materials, instructions and a return waybill included. Use the waybill supplied rather than arranging your own postage, and keep the sender's copy for the tracking number.
The prepaid return waybill covers most addresses, but not all. In rural or remote areas with no nearby FedEx Office, FedEx Ship Centre or authorised shipping partner, a prepaid return may not be available, and returning your sample to the laboratory is then at your own cost. Contact us if you are unsure whether your address is covered.
Shipping within the United States is free, and on our Canadian store shipping within Canada is already included in the price shown. Where a GI-MAP order crosses the border — a US-priced order going to Canada, Puerto Rico or another US territory — a shipping and handling charge of US$50 applies. It appears as its own line at checkout, so you see it before you pay.
Delivery times
Analysis typically takes 10–14 days from the laboratory receiving your sample. Postal delays, customs processing and laboratory volumes can extend this.
If your DUTCH or GI-MAP kit does not arrive
Contact us and we will trace it or send a replacement at no cost to you.
Restricted states
We cannot ship kits to, or accept samples from, New York, New Jersey or Rhode Island, because of state laws governing direct-to-consumer laboratory testing. An order placed from one of these states will be cancelled and refunded in full, with no administration fee deducted. See our Terms of Service, clause 4.3.
